Recipe: Pinakbet

Total Cost: P55- P60

Ingredients:

  • Squash ( worth P15 )
  • 1 pc. Eggplant
  • 5 pcs Okra
  • 1 tali of Sitaw
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 pc. tomato
  • Pork ( worth P25-30 )
  • Cooking oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Optional(Ajinomoto Seasoning or Magic Sarap )
  • 1 – 2 cup/s of water

Procedure:

  1. Saute garlic, onion, tomato and pork.
  2.  Add salt and pepper
  3. Add the vegetables, okra, squash, sitaw and eggplant.
  4. Pour 1-2 cups of water. Let boil until that vegetables are cooked.
  5. Add the ajinomoto or magic sarap.
  6. Let it boil for another 2 mins.
  7. Transfer to a serving bowl.
  8. Serve. Share. Enjoy!

  1. This is so timely because tomorrow I’ll be cooking a vegetable dish for my 4 yr old. However, I might end up having ginisa only instead of pinakbet because I only have squash and sitaw at my refrigerator 😀

    1. Hi momsh, same here. Sometimes whichever available on the fridge, yun nalang. Experiment is the key. 😊
