Recipe: Tinolang Tahong

This is one of my husband’s favorite. Actually, most requested nya to every Sunday which is okay with me kasi bukod sa mahilig din ako dito, easy to prepare and cook plus sobrang mura lang ng ingredients. Sharing with you my very own recipe of Tinolang Tahong.

Ingredients:

  • Tahong ( worth P50 )
  • Ginger ( thumb size )
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 pc. Onion
  • 1 Tomato
  • Malunggay ( optional – pero lagi kong nilalagyan kasi may puno ng malunggay sa vacant lot beside our house )
  • 1-2 cups of water
  • Pepper
  • Salt and Sugar to taste (yes i add sugar on my recipe. Konteng sugar lang para medyo manamis namis yun sabaw)
  • Magic Sarap ( optional- ok lang din wala or pwede din meron pero konteng konte lang din )

Procedure:

  1.  Saute the ginger, garlic, onion and tomatoes.
  2. Add the tahong followed by pepper, haluin ng paulit ulit mga 2 mins.
  3. Add water and some sugar.
  4. Let it boil (pag buka na yun tahong ibig sabihin luto na yun)
  5. Add the malunggay.
  6. Turn off the heat.
  7. Serve. Share. Enjoy.

I think mga 10 mins lang yun time of cooking and preparation. Sobrang dali lang mga mommies plus healthy pa wag lang may red tide. ­čśä
